Prof. Vladimir Gašparović

Prof. Vladimir Gašparović, MD, PhD (Zagreb, Croatia)

Vladimir Gašparović is internist, intensivist, nephrologist and emergency medicine specialist. He received his specialist training in Germany, Croatia and USA.

During his career, he was the head of the Center for Hemodialysis at the Zagreb Clinic for Internal Diseases and the head of the Department of Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine at UHC Zagreb.  He was a doctor at UNHCR teams, as well as an official doctor at the Swiss Embassy in the Republic of Croatia.

He is a full time professor at the Department of Internal Medicine for the scientific field of medicine, for the subject Internal Medicine at the School of Medicine , University of Zagreb, and the Head of the Postgraduate Study in Emergency and Intensive Medicine, and the Deputy Head of the Postgraduate Study in Emergency Medicine. He is the head of the International School of Intensive Care Medicine in Brijuni and the Symposium of Intensive Care Medicine in Brijuni. He is the president of the Croatian Society for Emergency and Internistic Intensive Care Medicine. He is a consultant at the CIHI for medical treatment abroad, for the field of internal medicine.

He has published more than 300 papers in the country and abroad, one of the editors-in-chief of several books and / or chapters in the field of intensive medicine in the country and abroad. It has been cited in the medical literature more than 600 times. He has been an invited speaker at a number of congresses and professional meetings at home and abroad.

He is the recipient of the Adris Foundation Award in the Knowledge and Discoveries area for the Brijuni Intensive Medicine Week project, as well as the 2004 German Society for Thrombosis and Haemostasis Research Professor Professor Landebeck awards in 2004 and the Slovenian Intensive Medicine Award for his contribution and the development of intensive medina in Slovenia in 2011.
